Zelfs kleine hoeveelheden water kunnen leiden tot grote schade aan uw huis en inrichting. Met name in keuken, badkamer, wasmachine ruimte of kelder worden vochtsensors gebruikt om bescherming te bieden tegen wateroverlast. Omdat deze vochtsensor werkt bij temperaturen vanaf 0\u00b0C, heeft een\u00a0 koele temperatuur geen invloed op de werking van de sensor. Het apparaat detecteert en meldt waterlekken vroegtijdig. Om dit te doen, controleert de melder periodiek om de 8 seconden op de aanwezigheid van vocht met behulp van elektroden. Als de sensor in contact komt met water, verandert de elektrische weerstand. Deze verandering wordt automatisch ge\u00ebvalueerd en activeert waarschuwingssignalen zoals een schelle alarmtoon en een knipperende led.
